I was raised by wonderful Catholic parents. I grew up going to a Catholic school that we called the "pink prison" in light of all the current school and church shootings, I was ignorantly and blissfully blessed with complete safety and security. The innocence we enjoyed seems all but lost and I pray and weep for our children. God save us from more of this kind of heartbreak.
As popular stories go...I told you that so I could tell you this: Every May 1st at my school the Nuns and teachers would bring the statue of Mary out into the courtyard and we would place a crown
of roses on her head and sing a song... "O Mary we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May."Please pray with me for our children and our brothers and sisters, that we may continue to gather in schools and at the churches of our choice and learn and worship without fear.
In honor of that song from my youth, I am focusing my features this week on all the floral beauty shared from last week's party.
I am In LOVE with Jennifer from Celebrating Everyday Life's post 15 Unique DIY Floral Arrangements for Mom including this adorable Scoop of Roses!
Shelley from Calypso in the Country's Pink Hydrangeas for Spring are a perfect fit.
I absolutely love Paula at Sweet Pea's DIY Hanging Floral Display

Lora from Lora B's May Day Basket was exactly what I was looking for! Didn't hers turn out simply beautifully?!
Cecelia at My Thrift Sore Addiction's French Farmhouse Planter Repurposed is absolutely adorable!

DeleteOh, Theresa. I'm moved by your words and the images they conjured in me this morning. I have a statue of Mary near our front door, and it's time to crown her with roses. Thank you for this gift - I grew up Protestant so I missed out on so much beauty that my Catholic friends now share with me. It's a dreary rainy day that is just perfect for being inspired in a place like this gathering. Thank you. I'm sharing my bedroom which took a lot of work to renovate and transform into what it is today - at #62. Thanks for the opportunity to share. xox
ReplyDeleteMichele, Thank you so much for your kind comment. I'm so pleased it spoke to you in some small way. I was raised Catholic, but now am Christian, still love some of the old ways of the church, I'm glad your Mary's going to get a crown. :) Your room is stunning, I absolutely Love it, almost as much as I enjoy you. :)
