Good morning friends. Sometimes, it just isn't business as usual and I am unable to pretend it is. It has been a difficult, heartbreaking, gut-wrenching.....week for our nation. Racism and inequality must not be tolerated in any form. I, like I'm sure many of you, have been spending a lot of time in prayer. Still, I believe what we do and share adds some much-needed levity in a stressed environment.
As a dear find of mine wrote, "You will never look in the eyes of someone God does not love." Praying for our nation.. I realize this is probably the wrong place for this but I can not just pretend I haven't seen all that has been happening in our world, and I also realize this will offend some of you, and I'm sorry, still, I know no other way. Even NOW there is so much beauty to be seen. We must embrace our differences and never become complacent. Praying for change, praying for justice, praying for healing, and Peace.

I'm with you, Theresa. The pain that our country is experiencing is heartbreaking and the continued inequality and racial injustice can't be tolerated. We have to do more, to do so much better. I appreciate the party this week. I linked up at #18 & 20.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Beverly.
DeleteTheresa,
ReplyDeleteMy Link Ups for this week are #55,56 and 57!! I hope your week is going well!!
Thanks so much for hosting each week!! Stay safe, healthy, happy!!
Hugs,
Deb
Theresa, you expressed in words what I've been feeling. My adult sons are in urban Philly and Manhattan where I was already stressed about them living in virus hot zones. While mostly homebond and a need for distraction, I've been armchair traveling by going through hundreds of photos from last year's bucket list vacation to South America. Sharing our amazing cruise in the Galapagos with wildlife photography to remind us that nature perseveres and so will we. #60. Meanwhile, I've updated my kitchen with coastal tableware and decor #62, and deconstructed personalized photo graduation decorations as inspiration to celebrate this year's grads #63.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment, Debbee. Yes, distractions and helpful for sure. Praying for your son's.
DeleteThank you for articulating so graciously, what so many of us are feeling, Theresa. Now more than ever, I'm so grateful for this forum where we can all share beauty and inspiration! I linked at 90, 91, & 92 today, and hope others find ideas, tips, or even simple distraction. ;) Thanks again and take care!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, Barbara! Stay safe and healthy. ❤️
DeleteI agree with you "embrace our differences and never become complacent." Thanks for hosting ~ I'm sharing my polka dot birdhouse #42.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Allyson.
DeleteThank you for hosting, I did posts 115-117. I think it is time for everyone to address their souls and choose to do something ACTIVE to change our country...it is not GREAT again, far from it. We need changes in our laws and the implementation of the already existing laws. We need leadership and a congress that functions for ALL our people, ALL the time. In the words of DR.Martin Luther King, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." It is sad that I lived through the 50-60's , that we are still in a dark and horrid place of such injustices and misery.
ReplyDeleteI couldn’t agree more, Sandi. Thank you!
DeleteIt has been a very emotional and heartbreaking week. There are so many people in pain. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us Theresa. It makes me feel like I am not alone in how I am feeling. I am linking my greenhouse for every season #141, and how to create a cottage garden #142. Thank you for hosting my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim.
DeleteThank you for hosting and for expressing your heart's ache. I have cried more in the last week than in a long time, and I don't intend to stop weeping. 'We are better than this' is what keeps springing to mind. And I believe that racism is not getting worse, it's getting filmed (Will Smith said that years ago). I'm sharing my new little chairs at #157, and they bring a little joy in a dark time. I plan to keep turning to nature for healing, for rejuvenation, for wisdom, and for sanity. It never fails to guide my feet to firmer ground. Sending you peace. xox
ReplyDeleteI agree, Michele. We are much better than this. Bless you heart. I hope nature is helping you greatly. Gentle hugs and peace be with you.
DeleteI am praying for healing and peace as well, Theresa. Thank you for hosting another great party; I am sharing #181 Conchas and Chilindrinas (two traditional Mexican sweet buns). Take care and stay safe!
ReplyDeleteYes, Irene. Lots of prayers here too. Thank you
DeleteThank you for hosting! Love so many of the features! I'm at 183 and 184 this week. God is good, and will be glorified, even through these times.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Julie.
